About Jhaleh

I am Jhaleh Amirian, a chemist with a passion for teaching and helping students succeed in chemistry. With a BSc in Applied Chemistry, an MSc in Nano Chemistry, and a PhD in Biomaterials Science, I bring both expertise and a practical approach to my lessons. I focus on making complex topics clear and engaging, guiding students to improve their grades and develop a true appreciation for chemistry.

About the lesson

The lesson titled “Struggling with Chemistry?! Personalized Chemistry & Organic Chemistry Lessons to Boost Your Grades!” is designed to help students who find chemistry challenging by offering one-on-one, tailored support to improve their understanding and performance in the subject. Here’s what the lesson might involve:

1. Personalized Learning Plan

• Assessment: We start by assessing your current level and identifying specific areas where you’re facing difficulties—whether it’s understanding core concepts, problem-solving in organic chemistry, or preparing for exams.
• Customized Plan: Based on the assessment, we create a personalized learning plan focused on your unique needs, ensuring we spend time on topics that matter most to you.

2. Concept Clarity

• Breaking Down Complex Topics: Chemistry can seem overwhelming due to the complex concepts and reactions. This lesson breaks down difficult topics, like bonding, stoichiometry, reaction mechanisms, and organic functional groups, into manageable parts.
• Interactive Techniques: Through interactive explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples, we make the material engaging and relatable, so you build a strong conceptual foundation.

3. Problem-Solving Strategies

• Step-by-Step Guidance: Learn how to approach chemistry problems methodically. We focus on strategies for balancing equations, predicting reaction outcomes, and solving quantitative problems with confidence.
• Practice Sessions: Regular practice sessions with personalized feedback help reinforce your skills and correct misunderstandings immediately.

4. Organic Chemistry Focus

• Understanding Reaction Mechanisms: Organic chemistry is often a struggle, especially with reaction mechanisms. We’ll cover core concepts such as nucleophilic substitutions, electrophilic additions, and the basics of synthesis in a way that’s easy to understand.
• Memorization Techniques: Organic chemistry involves a lot of memorization, but with smart memory aids, mnemonics, and pattern recognition, you’ll retain information more effectively.

5. Exam Preparation

• Exam Techniques: We cover test-taking strategies and common pitfalls in chemistry exams, focusing on both knowledge and technique.
• Mock Tests and Review: Simulate exam conditions with practice tests, followed by a thorough review to pinpoint areas for improvement before test day.

6. Continuous Support and Motivation

• Ongoing Feedback: Get regular feedback and progress updates to stay on track and motivated.
• Building Confidence: Chemistry can be intimidating, but with consistent support, encouragement, and clear guidance, you’ll feel more confident in your abilities.

This lesson aims to turn chemistry from a source of stress into a subject you can master and even enjoy. It’s all about building understanding step-by-step, ensuring each concept is clear and building your problem-solving skills along the way. Whether you’re preparing for exams or just need to improve your overall grasp, this personalized approach is designed to give you the boost you need.
