About Isabella
Hi! I'm Isabella, a California native and art and literature enthusiast. I am studying writing and fine arts with straight A's at Pasadena City College. I will soon transfer to a four-year university to continue my studies. I got straight A's in high school, scored a 5 on the AP Lang exam, and a perfect score on the English section of the SAT. My interests include classic literature, art history, poetry, theater, and visual arts. I have also worked as a nanny, teaching assistant, and personal assistant for over five years.

The most important part of my lessons is incorporating a form of reading that is fun for students and encouraging good "reading hygiene" (writing down and researching words they don't understand, highlighting impactful segments, summarizing chapters as they go along)
I also incorporate worksheets for their corresponding reading and writing levels that encourage comprehension, critical thinking, and literary analysis.
I also love incorporating creative aspects that show the student that learning can be fun! This includes spelling games, character sheets, creative writing, and words of the day.
I can help students at any level (k-12) but I especially enjoy working with grades 4-12, as that's when students' creative expression and opinions about literature begin to influence their work.
