About Jiya
Hi, I’m Jiya! As a fourth-year student specializing in Human Biology and Psychology at the University of Toronto, I understand that the jump to senior high school sciences and math can feel overwhelming. My goal is to transform that information overload into genuine understanding and academic confidence.
My journey through rigorous university academics including being named to the Dean’s List has taught me that success is not just about working harder; it is about studying smarter. I bring a professional, organized, and empathetic approach to every session. Having served as an Emergency First Responder on campus and as a researcher in clinical settings, I have developed the patience and communication skills needed to explain high-level concepts in ways that are clear and accessible.

A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan:
The Review (10 min): A quick "low-stakes" quiz on the previous session’s concepts to strengthen long-term memory.
Interactive Instruction (25 min): Introducing new material through visual aids and collaborative problem-solving.
Guided Practice (15 min): The student tackles problems while I provide real-time feedback and "scaffolding" to correct misconceptions early.
The Summary (10 min): The student explains the concept back to me (The Feynman Technique) to confirm mastery.
