About Kathy

I am an undergraduate student in Los Angeles, California. I'm currently studying Cognitive Science and Statistics. Besides my studies, in my free time, I also like learning different languages such as Spanish and German. I spent the majority of my childhood in the beautiful city Xiamen, which is located at the southeastern part of China. But I've lived in the US with my parents at the age of four, until I moved back to China when I turned seven. I know how hard it is to learn Chinese, as after returning back to China at seven, I had a hard time adapting to the culture and relearning my own native language. Chinese is a high-contextual language, so learning from textbooks isn't enough. Feel free to reach out to me. I would love to help you along your Chinese learning journey!

About the lesson

- I like to use pictures, videos, books, memes, podcasts, TikTok etc, fun materials to help students understand and learn Chinese. - I have both experience studying in China and the US. So I am very familiar with the two cultures and languages. - I would love to help students from all Chinese levels. I'm extremely happy to help beginners, as I know Chinese can be a hard language to pick up and I want to make the process as fun as possible. - I try my best to tailor my lessons to the student's need. So each lesson would be different.
