About Melissa
I am a dedicated educator with 16 years of professional teaching experience in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. For over a decade, I taught middle school science and high school biology in the classroom. For the past four years, I’ve specialized in virtual instruction – teaching high school biology and environmental science online for the county. I actively designed and authored the official STEM summer curriculum used by AACPS. This means I do not just know what is on the test; I help build the academic blueprint for the county.
I am nationally board certified in middle years science, hold a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Mary Washington.

My teaching approach bridges the gap between what is taught in the classroom and what a student needs to achieve an A. Because I already teach biology and environmental science virtually for Anne Arundel County my students get an insiders advantage, using the exact pacing resource and expectations they face every single day in the classroom. I specialize in tutoring middle school students taking introductory science or Stem modules who need to build strong, foundational habits, master scientific vocabulary, and excel in laboratory concepts. As well as high school student students enrolled in biology, environmental science or STEM electives who want to ace their unit exams, conquer high stakes testing, and master complex analytical thinking.
