About Mirza

I am a researcher in psychology in the University of Glasgow, specializing in quantitative and experimental research methods, advanced data analysis, statistics, and eye-tracking studies. I graduated from Master's degree with research in statistics, methematical and methodological psychology and in the process on pursuing my doctoral degree.

With over four years of teaching experience, I have created and taught courses in statistics, quantitative methods, and cognitive psychology. My teaching has reached across disciplines, including social sciences and medical sciences, showcasing my ability to engage with diverse audiences and bridge interdisciplinary perspectives. I find teaching deeply rewarding and see it as a cornerstone of my professional growth, complementing and enhancing the impact of my research.

About the lesson

Statistics might sound scary for some people, but if you learn it right, it is actually fun. I always believe that learning anything, such as data skills, statistics and research, is kind of like having a gym membership. You'll be given state-of-the-art equipment to use and instructions for how to use them, but your data skills won't get any stronger unless you practice. So, my class would be not only theoretical but also practical because practice makes perfect.

Particularly in my the lessons, I will also introduce and give basic tutorials to students in using statistical tools such as R programming and Python. For students who study psychology, I can give specific and in-depth courses about statistical methods in Psychology, such as linear mixed-effect models, eye-tracking analysis, and other topics.
