About Quito

Hi! I am a Stanford University graduate with a major in Political Science and a minor in human rights. I also graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MPhil in Development Studies. I have been tutoring since I was 16 years old and have tutored a wide age range, using a variety of teaching tools and techniques. I have engaged in both self-guided tutoring where students articulate their needs and learning techniques, as well as more traditional tutoring. I think the best way to teach is to learn about what motivates a student and align teaching method to best utilise such motivations. Ensuring that my tutoring style accounts for the interests of students is the best way to get rapid results. Recently I have focused on university admissions tutoring. I spent time on the Stanford Committee for Undergraduate Affairs which allowed me to get a more intimate understanding of the admissions process.

Because I am an international student, I wasn't aware of how the system worked, and she was able to help me figure out what courses were best for me and what my personal statement should look like. Because of her help, I was able to get into all of my university choices, including SOAS, King's College London, and LSE! She was patient with me and provided a lot of guidance and experience.
