About Chavez

Hi, I’m Ivette Chavez!
I’m Mexican American and was raised in Durango, Mexico, where I lived through my sophomore year of high school. Growing up immersed in the language and culture gave me a strong foundation in Spanish and a deep appreciation for the language.

Throughout my education in Mexico, I participated in Spanish language competitions and consistently excelled in my Spanish classes. I later attended Sonoma State University, where I minored in Spanish and continued developing my knowledge and passion for the language.

During college, I also had the opportunity to tutor undergraduate students for two years, which helped me discover how much I enjoy teaching and helping others build confidence in their Spanish skills.

Spanish has always been a meaningful part of my life, and I’m excited to share my knowledge, culture, and passion for the language with students of all ages. My goal is to make learning Spanish feel welcoming, engaging, and practical, while helping each student feel more confident along the way.

My lessons are personalized, practical, and designed around the way you learn best. I focus on building a strong foundation in pronunciation, grammar, and everyday conversation, while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable.

Since everyone learns differently, I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, goals, and pace. I also like to bring Spanish to life through music, movies, podcasts, and real-life conversations, so you can learn Spanish in a way that feels natural and fun.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to strengthen your Spanish skills, my goal is to help you feel more confident, comfortable, and excited to speak Spanish!
