About Lara
I have a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Curtin University which I obtained in December 2018. Through these past four years, I gained experience in teaching children many areas of development such as writing, spelling, reading, oral language, pre-literacy skills, and comprehension. In total, I have worked with approximately 50 children. Outcomes of my work have included improved results of assessments, increased classroom participation, and enhanced confidence expressed by my students and their families.
I have all relevant police checks and a current working with children clearance.

My lessons are geared towards working with all ages of children. I like to make my sessions fun and I aim to build a solid rapport with each student. This creates trust which can enhance learning outcomes for the student. I base my lessons on first identifying the student's strengths and areas of need through a discussion with the student and/or family and informal assessment. This allows me to pinpoint exactly what needs to be targeted in each session. I also base my sessions on following a methodological approach to learning (making the lessons more complex as the student achieves their goals/targets). This creates a perfect gradient for learning.
