About Kathryn
I am a Ph.D. speech-language pathologist with 33 years of experience in the university and public school setting. I have extensive experience helping students age 3-adult with language/literacy, writing, speaking (including public speaking), accent reduction, and social communication. I have worked with children and adults with special needs as well as adults in business settings looking to improve their literacy and communication skills.

My teaching methodology is holistic in nature. Specifically, I address language as a whole by focusing on listening, speaking, reading and writing to improve the individual's ability to communicate effectively in multiple settings (school, work, social situations, etc.). I use technology and a variety of media for instruction and stimuli (e.g., fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, YouTube instructional videos, online reference materials, music, and a variety of educational apps) to enhance and facilitate learning and communication with my students.
