About Ebony
I am a mother of a 19-year-old male who is currently in his first year of college and a 13-year-old 8th-grade female who is an A B honor roll student that I never put in daycare. I taught them everything they needed to know by researching the standards that they needed to know in order to succeed in kindergarten. I love teaching and learning new things that I pass on not just to my students but to others around me as well. My approach to life and learning is to treat students like they are my own children or loved ones because no matter what I want the best for you and will show you and help you obtain your goals. I also just like to have fun while fostering learning because it doesn't have to be hard or forced in order to learn and understand the subject at hand.

I like to meet you where you are and not where you are expected to be because we will get there eventually. We all learn differently and that is what I plan to nurture throughout our time together so that you will be able to succeed in school. I love to have fun because learning should not be bland because if it is how can you learn or better yet how can you understand and come to like what it is that you are learning? What sets me apart as a tutor is that I take to heart the person, not the subject that I am teaching because in order for the student to truly learn it has to be in an environment that is safe and caring (especially suited for my K-12 learners). A typical lesson plan for me is hard to nail down but basically I will start with the basics in order to see where you are and then branch out from there.There is no true lesson plan for learning because every person is different and some subjects just don't need one. As a special educator I can say that I have only used a lesson plan maybe 4 times in my career so yeah no lesson plan needed here either. I will get the job done without it.
