About Sofia

I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and computer science, so I am very passionate about those topics. I also have a master's degree in formulation chemistry (making medications, cosmetics and perfumes). I have always had a passion for languages. I speak four languages fluently (English, French, Italian and Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian) and would love to learn more. I have found the method that works for me in terms of learning a new language, and love helping others figure out what works for them.

About the lesson

Depending on the reason for learning English (or any language for that matter), the lessons will vary slightly. If a student is wanting to learn English to be able to speak in conversation, then we will of course cover all the grammar needed, but I think it is extremely important to speak the language as much as possible. We will have so much fun speaking together about many different topics and learn vocabulary words through this interaction. When needed we will take notes on certain grammatical structures and errors that may have been made, but I hope to relay to the student that learning a language can be so fun and useful in many ways. If we are following a course taken in school, I do my best to follow lesson plans that students need to keep up with, but I prefer to also make these lessons more interactive through speaking, adding real-world examples from homework to our lessons and overall making it feel less like a chore and more of something the student will look forward to learning.
