About Yajuan

I am a native Mandarin speaker with an English translation background (MTI Master's Degree). I understand the typical challenges English speakers meet while learning Chinese, especially confusing tones and unique grammar logic. About the lesson

My teaching style is student-centered and practical. I avoid rigid rote memorization and focus on helping learners build confidence to use Mandarin actively. I use clear English explanations to break down tricky grammar, tones, and cultural differences, which removes common obstacles for foreign learners.

Each session is tailored to your personal goals. A typical lesson usually opens with short speaking practice to review previous knowledge. Next, we learn new vocabulary, sentence structures, or pronunciation skills with real-life scenarios. Towards the end of class, you will complete interactive exercises, followed by a brief summary and lightweight homework for consolidation.

What makes me different: As an English translation major, I fully understand the confusion English speakers face when learning Mandarin, especially tone difficulties and grammar differences. I teach natural, usable Chinese instead of stiff textbook phrases. I patiently correct pronunciation and adjust my pace according to your progress.
