About Jennie
Although English is my first language, I started studying Spanish in high school and was passing for Hispanic within a couple of years--I must have been a Latina in a past life. I then studied in college to complete my grammatical base, but was already off and running. A professional singer, I spent 3 years touring and recording with one of the biggest name salsa acts of the time. After my salsa career, I started a Spanish music education business, in which I taught traditional Spanish songs for 17 years. The classes were full-immersion, meaning there was no English spoken during classes.
So I have a great deal of experience both teaching and speaking Spanish (there won't be any singing!) and feel confident that the full breadth of my experience makes me a more valuable--and interesting--tutor to work with than someone who may have studied teaching in school but whose hands on experience is of a drier variety, or even a native speaker who may not understand the nuances of what you're trying to say in English.

Are you a Spanish student? Having trouble with the accent? Maybe conjugation’s got you down, and you need help with your homework—perhaps just regular old homework—or even if you’re cramming for a big exam! Often people just need practice speaking with someone who can slow down without getting frustrated.
Whatever your Spanish need is, a la orden! (at your service!)
This is all done online, by Skype or Zoom, from the comfort and safety of your own home, and saves you the time and expense of commuting.
Age range: I work with students from junior high through university, and adults of any age.
Current availability: afternoons and evenings M-F, 11-7, Saturdays
Rates: $25 per half hour, $35 per 45 minutes, $45 per full hour (discounts available for those in need) by PayPal or Zelle
