About Julien

I’m a Spanish tutor with six years of teaching experience working with both students and professionals.

My Spanish developed through long periods living and working in Latin America, particularly Chile, where I worked as Head of Marketing for a consulting firm. Because of this, I teach Spanish as it is actually spoken — not just textbook Spanish.

Alongside tutoring, I work in education in London helping young people access transformational opportunities in schools across the UK. Teaching and communication are a large part of my professional life.

My students usually come to me for one of three reasons:

• They are preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams
• They want to improve their conversational Spanish
• They want to feel more confident speaking the language

I work with a wide range of learners, from complete beginners to advanced speakers who want to refine their fluency.

Sessions are primarily in person in London, with online sessions available where appropriate.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, structured and tailored to the student.

Depending on your goals, sessions may focus on:

• Building strong conversational ability
• Grammar explained clearly and simply
• Exam preparation and essay technique
• Listening comprehension and pronunciation
• Expanding vocabulary for real situations

A typical lesson combines explanation, conversation practice and structured exercises so that the language actually sticks.

For exam students (GCSE / A-Level), I also focus on exam technique and confidence speaking under pressure, which is often the difference between grades.

For adult learners, lessons focus more on usable Spanish — the kind you need for travel, work or conversation.

I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and speaking as much as possible.
