About Macarena

Outside of tutoring, I also babysit, so I’m comfortable working with kids of all ages. I am organized, punctual, and professional. My family is from Spain, so I love sharing both Spanish and Mexican culture with my students, and nothing makes me happier than seeing a student’s confidence grow.

About the lesson

I’m Macarena, a native Spanish speaker from Mexico and WashU student with three years of tutoring experience. My lessons are conversation-based and tailored to you, with custom materials, clear grammar explanations, and real-life practice. I teach all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced in a fun supportive way.

My daughter took Spanish classes with Macarena, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.
Macarena is a great teacher with an amazing ability to explain things clearly. She is very patient and engages the students and explains in such a clear way. My daughter improved dramatically her Spanish under her guidance, and she always looked forward to her Spanish lessons, which says a lot about the energy and warmth Macarena brings to every class.
I also love Macarena’s accent, and I especially appreciated the conversations she had with my daughter. They gave her real, natural practice with the language and helped build her confidence.
I recommend Macarena without hesitation to anyone looking for a patient, clear, and engaging Spanish teacher.

She was a friend in school. She tutored me in Spanish during the two years I took it. She takes things slow and makes it very easy to understand. She’s very patient and my grade rose after she helped me.
