About Olivia
My name is Olivia and I have been passionate about Spanish since I started studying it as a child. I quickly became fluent and continued to study the language throughout high school and college. I am a 4th-year Spanish major at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and will be pursuing a master's degree in Spanish once I graduate. I have provided Spanish tutoring services for students at my college as well as Texas Tech University, so I am a competent and experienced teacher in the subject. With my students, I like to provide them with the tools that I used to learn Spanish outside of the classroom. For example, I encourage my students to listen to Spanish music, watch Spanish TV shows, and try to integrate the language into their day-to-day lives. During the sessions, I do utilize traditional classroom-style instruction to provide a strong foundation for my students' language-learning journey.

As a Spanish tutor, I am eager to help with whatever a student needs, whether that be conversational practice, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, etc. In my experience, practicing with a fluent speaker and listening to Spanish music are some of the most effective ways to grasp the language. I will integrate music into my lesson plans which will help greatly with vocabulary and pronunciation! I am a flexible tutor, so I will always try to assist each of my students in a way that is best for them. For example, if you tell me what you would like to work on during a given session, I will design a lesson plan around your specific needs. As a native English speaker who successfully became fluent in Spanish, I am highly qualified to relate to my students the tricks that helped me learn the fastest!
