About Zyven
Hello there! My name is Zyven Sobkowski and I am a native Spanish speaker from North Carolina. My mother moved here from Medellin, Colombia when she was 19, and raised both my brother and I to speak Spanish fluently. She is a Spanish legal interpreter by trade and I followed in her footsteps and became a Spanish medical interpreter for several years.
Together you and I can work on Spanish:
- vocabulary
- pronunciation
- sentence structure
- conjugation
- conversation skills
and any other aspect of the Spanish language that you desire.
I will be happy to give you little assignments as well as a very useful conjugation sheet that we will refer to throughout your Spanish learning journey with me. Lastly, I've traveled to Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and Puerto Rico, so if you'd like, I can teach you about different cultures that speak the Spanish language!

I am very grateful that I have been able to develop my Spanish speaking, writing, and reading abilities for 28 years now. I learned both Spanish and English at the same time, and even went to a magnet school from Kindergarten to 5th grade and learned all core materials in Spanish. From there, I proceeded to enhance my Español by taking honors and AP courses throughout high school, while also pursuing a Spanish translation degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am very confident that I have what it takes to be able to take your Spanish skills to the next level.
