About Tori
I am a Spanish teacher with one year’s experience teaching and 9 years of Spanish study. I have degrees in Spanish and Secondary Foreign Language Education, and have taught Spanish to children ranging from age 5 to 18. I’ve also tutored adults in English, so I have experience working with adults who want to expand their language knowledge as well. In my classes, I use a combination of comprehensible input and direct grammar instruction. To learn and remember individual words, we may do hand motions or draw pictures. I also try to draw on students’ knowledge of their primary language; for example, some grammar concepts and many words are very similar between English and Spanish. Reviewing those concepts in English and drawing parallels can help with understanding and retention.
