About Silvia
In addition to my professional experience, I love to travel and to learn new languages, winter sports, and any activity that can lead to a cultural exchange. I volunteered at the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games as a consecutive translator and the International Skating Union twice during international championships. I grew up in Mexico City but lived abroad most of my life in different countries around the world. I've always had a passion for languages and art. I've been teaching Spanish lessons (ELE) for about twelve years to adults, teens and children from diverse backgrounds, university students, high school students, refugees and executive employees from small start-ups through to global corporations.
My work experience includes teaching at language schools and institutes in different cities abroad for over the past twelve years. More recently online during and after COVID-19.
I've worked closely with individuals and groups from beginners through to near-native fluency as well as private tutoring of military officers to prepare them for work as diplomats in Spanish speaking countries.
The groups' age range, multicultural and social diversity I've taught drove me to develop a method in order to include and give special attention to each student, helping them advance in their understanding of Spanish language and culture.
