About Beatriz

My name is Beatriz, Bea, or B, whatever you find easier to remember and pronounce.

I come from the Canary Islands, and I studied in the Heidelberg Schule, a bilingual school. Besides Spanish, which is my mother tongue, I also speak English and German.

After high school, I did an International Double Degree Program, which gave me the possibility to get two different university degrees. One of the degrees was Business Administration (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and the other one was Digital Marketing (University of Birmingham).

Once I finished university back in Spain, I decided that I wanted to come to London to continue my professional career, so I have been living and working in London for almost 2 years now.

During my years of High School and Uni, I started giving lessons to kids from my school to help them with both spanish and english. That gave me the possibility to save a bit of money for the summer. Now that I am settled here, I would like to continue giving classes as I really enjoyed them.

About the lesson

On the first class I try to understand the interests and motivations from my students, so I can prepare my classes based on what they would find fun and entertaining.

It´s a bit difficult to have a kid learning another language for an hour and half without getting any distractions, so a key to keep the student focused is finding what interests them the most. TV Series, Sports, Biology, Music etc.

I would create PPTs and exercises based on different topics, to make my grammar classes easier and more fun!

I would give classes for an hour and half, as I like to use the first 15 minutes to do some speaking, discuss about the day/weekend, and correct homework. At the end of the class I usually ask for feedback in terms of what the student would like to study/prioritise for next lessons and to explain the homework.
