About Amanda
Over the past year I have been teaching first through sixth graders and giving personalized tutoring sessions for sixth through college age students in Valencia, Spain. This has not only improved my teaching abilities but has added depth to my Spanish fluency and cultural understanding. Additionally, I have studied Spanish for ten years with a Spanish minor from Virginia Tech as well as study abroad experience in Barcelona, Spain.

I cater my tutoring sessions to the personal learning goals and academic requirements of the student. Our first meeting will contain a screening process, so I can best personalize the lessons from that point forward based on their comprehension and comfort level as well as what the student is looking to gain. There will be reading, writing, and listening incorporated in each lesson, but speaking will be a highlighted focus in order to help the student gain confidence in speaking Spanish, which I believe to be the most challenging obstacle when learning a new language.
