About Ferne
I earned an undergraduate degree in Spanish language and culture at Ohio University, taught high school students as well as adults in the workplace for more than 15 years. Studied abroad in Mexico with excursions to Mexico City, Puebla, Merida, Tulum, and lived with family in Jalapa. Vacationed in Peru (Macchu Pichu), Guatemala and Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Offered private lessons and coaching to high school students and adults and served as a bilingual elections official with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

I focus on a conversational approach, continually practicing listening to and repeating the unique sounds of Spanish with students. Then I teach/students learn to practice common expressions and grammatical patterns that help students speak in sentences. Recently, I launched a series of Zoom online sessions continuing the focus on conversation.
