About Anne
I have taught for over 14 years
I have a MA in Teaching of Languages
I have taught mainly university level and adult education
I have taught at universities on 4 continents (South America, North America, Japan, Africa)
I teach both English and Spanish. My English classes have been mainly academic and conversational English. (also TOEFL preparation) I have worked mostly with university students and business professionals. Since returning to USA, I have worked with immigrant populations. I have taught Spanish at public and private universities in the USA since 2014.

My personal beliefs about teaching stem from my personality, my education, and my experiences in the classroom. The typical structure of my classes consists of an introduction, analysis, and then production. We spend the majority of the class on production. Like learning to play a sport, learning a language requires ample active practice. Students need to be producing the language as much as possible to ensure learning will cross over to real world situations. I include authentic materials and cultural information to make it more interesting and also helps students see real language not just textbook language. I maximize the time in class so that students are speaking the language as much as possible in both structured and non-structured exercises.
