I co-taught English classes with Lina at SENA Galan in Armenia, Colombia.

Lina is an expert in English and can help students with their English or Spanish for professional development. There was a strict English only policy in her classroom and she pushed students to try speaking even if they could only say a single word. Additionally, she incorporated skits and language that reflected the cohort’s area of study. For example, if it was a business cohort, then she created skits involving business situations with business specific vocabulary. She knows how to challenge students, while maintaining a fun learning environment.

I was impressed by her ingenuity in creating lesson plans that engaged the students. In one of my favorite activities, she used the Bon Jovi song “Misunderstood” to teach the simple past tense. The students read the lyrics and watched the music video, which shows imagery of the story in the past tense. Everyone loved the activity and it cemented the tense with the story’s visual connection.

Altogether, Lina was a pleasure to work with!

Lina is a phenomenal teacher and I learned so much in my time with her. Her emphasis on each student is amazing. She is truly invested in your learning process and has an obvious passion for language. I always enjoyed her energy and would love to work with her again in the future!

The way she teaches is very motivating and fun, as she chooses fun topics and activities, but she is also demanding when needed. Her classes are effective and enjoyable.

Definitivamente, la primera impresión que la teacher Lina da a sus alumnos en sus clases es la de una mujer claramente preparada y capacitada para compartir de una manera directa, clara de entender y por supuesto, divertida tanto en contenido como en la manera práctica, es genial como aprendes tantas cosas sobre el idioma inglés mientras te diviertes, eso es lo mejor de todo! (Las actividades y formas de evaluar son bastante diversas y agradables).
Si realmente esperan y claro, si QUIEREN mejorar todo su conocimiento y práctica en un segundo idioma como lo es el inglés, la mejor decisión que pueden tomar es ver clases con la teacher Lina.

Pdta: Si al final de las clases realmente no aprenden nada, que les devuelvan el dinero (Aunque estoy completamente seguro que si aprenderán MUCHíSIMO con ella).

Como profesional, tiene un conocimiento increíble, enfatizando mucho en la pronunciación y la gramática, su pedagogía es única para aprender de la mejor manera.
Como persona pienso que es increíble, una mujer honesta honrada y muy respetuosa ( muy profesional ) puedes contar con ella en cualquier cosa que necesites, es una EXCELENTE mujer y profesora.
