About Alicia
My mother tongues are Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. I have studied Cultural Studies at the Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid, Spain – 2004-2009) and have obtained my master’s degree on Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the same institution (2009-2011), in addition to numerous other certificates of qualification as Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese teacher.
I have lived in Berlin for 10 years, and have worked there as a teacher for both languages at the Volkshochschule. Now I live in Spain, where I continue to teach groups and where I also offer private lessons through Skype.
I speak fluently German and English and can also communicate in French and Italian.

My teaching approach is very communicative, but the theory is also very important in learning and teaching a foreign language. That is why I work grammar and vocabulary in a dynamic manner in my lessons. The most important to me is that the students feel stimulated and at ease, that they notice that they make progress in each lesson, that they can practice their acquired knowledge in their travels and their daily life.
I work with my own digital learning materials, that are tailor-made for my students, but I am also flexible and can work with textbooks if the student prefers so. I understand the difficulties of my students and help them overcome them and, if they wish, we can use English or German as support languages. The pace of the lessons, as well as the contents, are adapted to the needs of each student.
