About Maisie
With over 13 years of experience teaching drums, I help school students, college learners, and working professionals learn rhythm in a way that feels simple and enjoyable. My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and always focused on building confidence. I take time to understand each student’s goals, whether they want to learn basics, improve technique, or prepare for performances. In my classes, students learn timing, coordination, stick technique, rhythm reading, and musical expression.
I also guide them through playing along with songs, creating drum fills, and exploring different genres like rock, jazz, pop, and fusion. I teach related subjects such as rhythm theory, music fundamentals, ear training, and practice methods. These help students grow into confident and well-rounded musicians. A unique skill I bring is my ability to break down any drumming challenge into small steps. I create fun practice routines, use play-along tracks, and help students stay motivated. My mission is to make learning drums enjoyable and achievable for every learner.

My drum teaching methodology is built on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility. Communication helps me understand each student’s goals and learning style. I keep instructions simple and make sure the student always knows what we are working on.
Creativity allows students to explore rhythm in fun and expressive ways. I include groove-creation tasks, improvisation, rhythm games, and play-along practice. These creative elements help students improve timing, coordination, and musical awareness.
Flexibility is important because every student learns differently. I adjust the pace, exercises, and approach to suit their progress. When a skill is difficult, I break it into smaller pieces. When they advance quickly, I introduce new challenges.
I also teach related subjects like rhythm skills and basic theory. My aim is to support students in becoming confident drummers through a fun, flexible, and creative learning environment.
