About Rosie

A Motivated & enthusiastic bi-lingual graduate SEND SALT/EAL Teaching Assistant
with 3+ years of school experience in Primary, Secondary & Adult Education. A passionate advocate for inclusive education that maximizes learning outcomes for all

About the lesson

The Maths National Curriculum focuses on the importance of pupils, even at the Primary level to demonstrate depth in maths fluency by applying learning to word problems and responding to them using mathematical vocabulary and logic. Unfortunately, opportunities to practice these highly essential skills in mathematics are not prioritised during maths lessons due to mixed ability classes and timing. However, developing maths fluency and practicing its application regularly embeds learning and increases confidence which is a critical factor in academic success considering the high rates of maths anxiety amongst both pupils and teachers.

Rosie has been supporting my autistic son since December last year and her skilled, engaging and effective teaching has meant my son has been able to access the national curriculum, progress from being non-verbal to speaking sentences and surpass all the targets on EHCP. Rosie has gone above and beyond, attending a meeting at my son's school in her own time to support the creation of new EHCP targets for the next academic year.
