About Carlos
I have been interested in software development since 2008. I had pursued my interest first as a hobby by debugging and modding code for some of the computer games I enjoyed as a teen. I began to expand my interest into programming proper by self-teaching methods and learning object-oriented principles through developing code using C# and the .NET framework. During the period between 2010-2013, I began learning and exercising my expertise in web development by learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create rudimentary web pages and site experiences. I began my professional career proper after completing a Full Stack web development certification program in 2019 and pursued a career as a Salesforce Developer for American Express. Currently, I'm working with a different company to expand my career in back-end development utilizing Java and various Java-oriented tools. I understand the passion needed to pursue programming and software development since I did not start my interest as a job seeker in the industry. I want to foster that passion first as I want my graduates to love programming and development in order to excel later in the industry or to better understand the jargon and complexity of it in times when they may interact with developers in other career fields.

My teaching method will center around understanding the principles of object-oriented programming, using a language as a learning tool. Understanding the principles will make learning other tool sets and languages a much easier prospect, thus as a student, you can choose to pick up as many languages and tool sets to learn as part of the curriculum or on your own self-learning in the future. Since my curriculum is mainly focused on student goals, the languages and tool sets available to learn will vary depending on the interests of the student. I aim to structure my lessons generally for an eighth grade level of education or above. I am also available to give lessons for adults (age 18+) of any education level.
