About Danny
I am a Social Sciences graduate with MA Social Sciences and PGCE teaching qualification, specialized to teach students in further and higher education. I have up to date knowledge of curriculum and assessment in Sociology, Psychology, Politics and Health and Social Care. I incorporated formative assessments through checking students’ learning in the classroom through directed questioning and monitoring of practical activities and summative assessments through marking of mock exam questions. Students’ grades were improved substantially.

I promoted equal opportunities in my teaching for students of all abilities, learning styles and cultural backgrounds. I planned lessons which drew on a range of learning outcomes on Bloom’s Taxonomy, including skills of comprehension, analysis and evaluation; I designed learning resources which included a mixture of audio-visual, textbook resources and newspaper articles drawn from diverse cultural contexts which students engaged in a variety of activities including individual, pair work, group presentations and classroom discussions. I made sure to include subtitles for video-clips, large prints and PowerPoint presentations against a white background for students with special needs.
