About Julia
Hi! I'm Julia, a New York-based history student at Stony Brook University pursuing a degree in History and a Fast Track Master's in Teaching for Social Studies (7–12). I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
In addition to my studies, I work for Stony Brook University's tutoring center, where I facilitate study groups and help students strengthen skills such as time management, organization, note-taking, test preparation, and effective study strategies. Through this role, I've learned how to support students with different learning styles and help them find approaches that work best for them.
As a future educator, I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and personalized. My goal is to help students become more confident, independent learners while making challenging subjects feel approachable and manageable.

Hi! I'm Julia, a history student in Stony Brook University's Fast Track Master's in Teaching program. I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, meaning every lesson is tailored to the student's individual needs, goals, and learning style.
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material. One of my strengths is helping students connect history to current events and the world around them, making complex topics more relevant, memorable, and easier to understand.
I work with middle school and high school students in history, social studies, government, and writing-related subjects. I also help students prepare for Regents exams, AP courses, and other standardized assessments, focusing on both content knowledge and test-taking strategies to build confidence and improve performance.
