About Samara
I am a young professional, having graduated from the University of Toronto in the past year. I am a social cultural anthropology major (specialist), and have a passion for writing, blogging, academic research and literature. I have experience working with children and youth, as a babysitter for my family as well as an orientation leader at my University helping to familiarize young students with university life. I also have extensive experience in the hospitality and customer service industries and am very confident teaching the use of English in both academic as well as professionals settings.

> I start out with basic grammar, teaching verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc. used in everyday language.
> I use conversational scenarios, using Powerpoint with imagery and text, I introduce the student to basic
conversations suing these tools.
> I use repetition- I believe that going over a concept or rule many times is the only way the student is
truly going to get the concept right every time.
> I use encouraging, rather than negative language. I will never insult a student, or tell them they are doing a bad job- instead I will work with their strengths and weaknesses to show them what they can improve for the next week.
> I use review- at the end of each lesson, we will review everything we have done and the student can ask all of the questions they may have.
> Finally, I encourage communication throughout the week- if the student needs something, they can always email me with a question and I will reply in a timely manner.
