About Jermaine

안녕하세요! I’m Jermaine from Singapore :)

I’m a TOPIK Level 6 Korean tutor who is passionate about helping learners understand Korean in a clear and intuitive way. As someone who spent the past 10 years learning Korean, I understand the difficulties that a new learner would face.

That’s why I focus on explaining Korean in a clear, step-by-step way that actually makes sense. Instead of memorising blindly, I help you understand how Korean works so you can start using it with confidence.

Whether you’re learning Korean for travel, exams like TOPIK, work, or just interest in K-culture, I’ll guide you at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’m patient, friendly, and I make sure students feel comfortable asking anything—no pressure at all.

Just drop me a message with your current level and what you want to learn, and we’ll figure out a simple way to start :)

About the lesson

Every lesson is personalised to your goals, whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for TOPIK, planning a trip to Korea, or finally want to understand your favourite dramas without subtitles.

Here's what you can expect:

- Learn grammar in a way that actually makes sense—not just memorise rules.
- Study with real examples from K-dramas, K-pop, variety shows, YouTube content and even the latest Korean slang (신조어), so you'll learn how Koreans actually speak today.
-️ Build confidence speaking naturally through conversations, role-plays and practical situations instead of only filling in worksheets.
- Receive clear notes after every lesson, vocabulary lists, pronunciation tips and revision materials so learning continues even after class.
- Learn the little cultural details, expressions and hidden meanings that textbooks often leave out.

Learning from real-world examples, you will notice a shift from translating word by word to actually recognising patterns and responding more naturally. That’s when Korean starts to feel much more intuitive! Lessons are relaxed and supportive, and each lesson will be personalised to your goals :)
