About Stella
I hold a MSc in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry and have been tutoring for over five years, focusing on forensic chemistry. My lessons blend core topics like drug analysis and toxicology with practical techniques from crime scene investigation. I teach holistically, showing how chemistry connects to law, ethics, and biology. Students often work with simulated case files that challenge them to think like investigators. This method builds critical thinking as well as technical skill. I also teach the principles of analytical instrumentation, so students understand how results are obtained. Ethics is a theme I stress repeatedly, because forensic science requires careful judgment. I’ve supported students aiming for forensic degrees and careers in law enforcement. Many enjoy the combination of theory and practice in my sessions. I aim to make each lesson engaging and purposeful. For me, teaching chemistry is about more than knowledge. It’s about preparing students to use science in pursuit of truth and justice.

My methodology is rooted in structure and simplicity. Organic chemistry has many layers, but when taught step by step, it becomes clear. I guide students through nomenclature, functional groups, isomerism, and reaction mechanisms in a logical order. Each session reinforces the previous one, creating steady growth. I use real-world examples to show how chemistry connects to life, especially for Environmentalist and Marine Biologist learners. Their work often involves carbon compounds, so I link the subject directly to their goals. Regular feedback helps students track progress and adjust where needed. I value open dialogue and encourage questions at every stage. Complex reactions are broken down into patterns that students can recognize. Once the groundwork is solid, we focus on synthesis and advanced problem-solving. My teaching is both supportive and challenging. I aim to build confidence alongside knowledge. Together, we turn organic chemistry into an exciting and achievable subject.
