When tutoring, I emphasize deep learning and understanding by allowing the student to identify the root of the misunderstanding and working through it with me. I believe in repetitive exercises to promote long-term memory of content and work with students in encouraging and engaging ways. My biggest belief is ensuring students feel comfortable being taught by me and that their tutoring feels productive, not boring or a waste of time.
I prefer to teach middle and high school students, but will accept elementary students depending on what subject needs attention. I teach physics, biology, anatomy, earth sciences, algebra, and arithmetic (for early middle school and elementary students). I prefer to work remotely via Webex meet in 60 minute sessions, but I understand that productive learning often stems from in-person contact so based on your location just let me know what works best for you! :)
