About Eve
My name is Eve, and I have been tutoring for over five years now. I began by tutoring math in high school. In college, I moved on to tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, geology, and any subject that the university asked me to tutor. So while chemistry is my favorite subject to tutor, I am open to tutoring any subject that I have adequate knowledge in!
Tutoring is honestly the best part of my day. I love getting to know the students and learning the best ways I can help them. I am someone who knows what it feels like to struggle through a class. I relate to each student, and I am able to share personal experiences and lessons learned in the classes I struggled in. I understand the difficulty of the courses I tutor, and I want students to know that struggling is okay. I find great joy in helping students learn how to overcome the challenges of learning science. I am here to make science easier for those who struggle like I did.
Regarding my qualifications, I have a strong foundation in chemistry and other sciences which gives me the ability to convey the material in a multitude of ways. I also have taken education courses which have helped me understand how students learn. In sum, evidence-based teaching strategies paired with my personal knowledge and experience in science gives me the foundation needed to be an excellent tutor.

I personalize my tutoring lessons to each student to fit their individual needs. I spend my time not only helping students better understand the material, but also helping students build the skills and mindset to succeed in future courses. My background in chemistry paired with my experience in education gives me the best opportunity to help students learn and even enjoy science.
