About Rachel
Hi, I'm Rachel and I am a Secondary School teacher of Mathematics. I have been teaching Maths for over 4 years and I love learning (yes I still learn too!) new things about Maths and new ways to teach it! I want my students to feel comfortable and open with me with their learning and struggles, as this helps me to know exactly how to help you. I have been told that I am a very calm and patient teacher and this helps my students to feel at ease. Outside of the classroom, I love to travel and learn about the world we live in. I believe what I teach in the classroom should relate to our experiences outside the classroom, and there's no better way than to do this in person, to hopefully inspire you.

Is Maths the most infuriating subject you have ever studied? Well, me too actually! I haven't always found Maths to be easy, but it has taught me to be patient, understanding and resilient to problem solving. These three components are what I try to encourage my students to be also. Mistakes are totally inevitable, I make them sometimes too, but what I aim to emphasise is that mistakes help us learn. During your 30-minute or hour session, we will unpick some of the trickier aspects of KS3/GCSE Maths that you're not sure about and I will guide you through these topics with personalised teaching and step-by-step methods. So, are you ready to uncover your (secret) love for Maths?
