About Lara

Hi! I'm a second-year medical student at the University of Liverpool with a strong academic background in science and a genuine passion for teaching. I achieved grade 9s in GCSE Biology and Chemistry, and A grades in both subjects at A-Level. Currently, I tutor two GCSE students in science and aim to deliver clear, structured lessons tailored to each student's needs. My tutoring style is friendly, supportive, and collaborative. I’m always open to feedback and input from students about how they feel they learn best, what they’re struggling with, and what works for them. I also use my own observations to adapt my approach and ensure every session is effective. I focus on building confidence, improving exam technique, and supporting long-term learning using methods like active recall and spaced repetition. As a medical student, I bring both subject expertise and professionalism to every lesson. I'm approachable, reliable, and committed to helping students reach their full academic potential.

About the lesson

I provide tailored 1-hour tutoring sessions for students in Year 10 to Year 13, focusing on GCSE Biology and Chemistry, as well as A-Level Biology. My teaching approach is highly personalised—I adapt each lesson to suit the student’s individual learning style while emphasising effective study strategies like active recall, regular testing, and long-term memory techniques. I'm currently a second-year medical student at the University of Liverpool, with strong academic foundations in science. I achieved grade 9s in GCSE Biology and Chemistry and As in both subjects at A-Level. I currently tutor two GCSE students and love helping learners build confidence, improve exam technique, and reach their full potential.
