About Alyssa
My high school GPA was a 3.9 and I took challenging AP classes. My college GPA as of now is a 3.9. I have worked with kids for about six years and am passionate about impacting young lives. Not only do I want to support you academically, but I also want to make a genuine connection with you. Creating a genuine connection will help learning because the best learning occurs in a safe environment. I love reading books in my free time, and I hope to share this passion with you! Lastly I would like to make it clear that I understand this platform is expensive and I want to help all students, therefore I am very open to privately tutoring through zoom and getting paid via Venmo. I would love to meet for free the first time so we can make a plan and I can gather future materials.

My teaching approach focuses on interactive lessons, constant feedback, goal setting, and open discussions. My drive is to find what makes learning fun for each individual and apply that to encourage learning and find reading, writing, and comprehension skillsets. I believe every student can succeed with the right learning style used. What sets me apart is I am flexible and want to adapt to each student's needs. I will make sure to understand critical goals that we can make achievable. A typical session would include an introduction where we can discuss what to go over. Secondly, we would spend time doing an interactive learning activity and using resources to help engage and provide a better understanding of the lesson. Then, we would dive into the core content following practice time. Lastly, I would allow time for feedback and discussion where we could go over homework. I am always open to changing the routine based on student needs. My lessons are for grades 5th to early high school. Through my college experience I have made in depth lesson plans for grades k-8th. I do feel comfortable teaching any subject for elementary and middle school students.
