About Arwen

With 18 years of experience, I am a drum tutor who enjoys helping school students, college learners, and professionals discover their love for drumming. My teaching approach is friendly, organized, and focused on building confidence. I create a safe learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new techniques. I teach core drumming skills such as stick technique, rhythm patterns, timing, coordination, and reading notation.

Students also learn how to explore different genres and express their own musical ideas. My lessons include both technical practice and creative activities. I also teach related subjects like rhythm theory, music basics, performance planning, and ear training. These help students gain a strong musical foundation. A unique skill I bring is my ability to make learning interactive. I use song breakdowns, warm-up routines, and guided practice to keep students excited. My aim is to build skilled drummers who love practicing and performing.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for drums is guided by Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility. I begin every learning process with clear communication to understand the student’s background, interests, and goals. This helps me design lessons that are personal and meaningful. I give simple instructions and make sure the student feels supported at each step. Open communication helps create a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

Creativity is central to all my lessons. I believe drums should be explored with imagination and curiosity. I include exercises such as rhythm games, groove creation, dynamic exploration, and improvisation. Students also practice with different genres of music to experience how drum patterns change across styles like rock, jazz, funk, and pop. This creative exposure helps students develop rhythm accuracy, musical awareness, and a strong sense of groove.

Flexibility allows me to shape every lesson around the student’s natural learning style. Some students learn visually by watching demonstrations. Others learn best through listening and repetition. Some prefer a structured approach, while others enjoy experimenting. I adjust each lesson’s difficulty, speed, and focus depending on what helps the student improve most effectively. I believe learning should feel smooth, not stressful.

Beyond drums, I also teach rhythm basics, beginner theory, and performance preparation. My aim is to help students develop strong musical foundations and confidence. With communication, creativity, and flexibility as the core of my teaching method, students experience a supportive and inspiring path toward becoming skilled drummers.
