About Kathleen
Hi! I'm Kathleen! I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology & Immunology from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry & Biology from the University of Arkansas. I specialize in tutoring STEM courses, though I also tutor in test prep, including SAT, PSAT, and MCAT. I am a one-time National Merit Scholar and have spent years learning test-taking strategy and helping students get over their testing nerves.

My SAT prep sessions are organized and tailored to the specific student. Before starting on a SAT prep plan, I always have students take a full-length practice exam to assess strengths and weaknesses. I then develop a tutoring plan in concert with the parents and students - these usually include sessions on writing, grammar, SAT math, and test-taking strategy. I also assign work outside of sessions to reinforce our work and expand vocabulary.
