About Iris
I am a third-year Sciences Po Paris student currently studying at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. History has been a major part of my education: I specialized in History, Geography, Geopolitics and Political Science during my French Baccalauréat, which I completed with highest honors, and I continue to study history, politics and international affairs at university.
My studies at Sciences Po and ANU involve extensive historical research, source analysis, academic reading and essay writing. This has given me strong experience in constructing arguments, critically evaluating evidence and communicating complex ideas clearly.
I also have previous experience providing one-on-one tutoring and homework support to children and teenagers. Having worked for several years in educational and youth settings, I am patient, approachable and comfortable adapting explanations to different ages and learning styles.
My goal is to make History easier to understand and more engaging while giving students practical skills they can apply to essays, exams and source-analysis tasks.

My History lessons are tailored to each student’s level, curriculum and individual needs. I aim to help students not only learn historical content, but also understand how to analyse events, build arguments and communicate their knowledge effectively in assessments.
Sessions can focus on understanding course content, analysing primary and secondary sources, essay planning and writing, developing historical arguments, revision techniques, exam preparation and improving written responses.
I particularly focus on helping students move beyond simply memorising dates and events. We will work on identifying causes and consequences, comparing different perspectives, evaluating evidence and using historical examples to support a clear argument.
A typical lesson lasts around one hour and can be based directly on the student’s current coursework, upcoming assessment or areas they find challenging.
My lessons are primarily aimed at secondary and senior secondary students, including students who need general History support as well as those wanting to strengthen their essay writing and source-analysis skills.
