About Jonathan

Hello! I'm Jonathan, and I'm originally from North Wales. I spend most of my time as a professional timpanist, working regularly with ensembles such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic and Concert orchestras, Opera North, London Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. However, all aspects of drums and percussion excite me, and I love to teach everything, from rock and roll drums, to avant garde vibraphone! I am looking for students of any age or ability in the South Birmingham area, and I can either come to your home to teach, or can teach on zoom.

About the lesson

I teach almost all percussion instruments, including drum kit, timpani, orchestral percussion, marimba and vibraphone, and have performance experience in a wide variety of musical settings. I believe in allowing the student or parent to dictate the lessons, and I don't force any particular style or examination on any students. Whatever you want to get out of the lessons, I will do my very best to provide.
