About Sue

I'm a retired headteacher, Ofsted inspector and education consultant with a proven track record.

I have a psychology degree and a masters in education as well as an advanced diploma in mathematics education. I have always loved studying how the brain works and trying to find the best ways for people to learn.

I also love travel and am probably the best travelled woman in the country. So, I'm happy to bring that into lessons, if other countries interest you.

About the lesson

Catch up, support for assessments and extending the more able, for pupils aged 6- 11.

I've been teaching in the UK for a long time and I have taught headteachers and teachers, as well as many classroom lessons for all primary ages. I show teachers how to make their lessons accessible, interesting and fun, as well as helping students to remember what they have learned. That's key. So I make sure I do that myself, over one hour sessions.

Learning has to be enjoyable, adapted to the needs of the learner - anything from puppets to specially chosen texts or videos, depending on the age and interest of the students and success must be built in - small achievable steps, based on a thorough knowledge of the curriculum and the testing system.

Students will be given homework to practise what they have learned so I can make sure that the work is understood before we move on.
