About Susan
I am a retired teacher [elementary (Grades 3/6) and middle school/high school English and social studies/history)].
I worked in educational publishing in New York City and elsewhere as an executive editor for several leading publishers including McGraw Hill and Scholastic, developing books and materials for K-12 students and teachers.

Now that I am retired, I tutor and nanny children. Last year I worked throughout the school year with a first-grade student through her virtual zoom experience.
I love working with students to improve their reading and writing skills.

I have done a fair amount of tutoring for students K-college. With my background in early literacy/Academic English, I have helped struggling readers become good readers and older students become good readers of literature and accomplished writers.
Former elementary teacher and high school English teacher.
Have written and edited many early readers and materials for middle school and high school English. Experienced also in helping students prep for ACTs.
