About Darryl
I recently retired as an educator with 30 years experience working from the early years and through the senior years. I consider myself a lifelong learner and have remained current in my education and life in general. I have been employed as an Administrator, literacy Specialist/Resource Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Career Development Facilitator and more.
I have been employed both in the education field, as well as external to it. During Covid, I taught high school remotely and developed virtual classrooms through Google to support my students. My virtual classrooms allowed me to provided direct on on one support and classroom instruction. It further provided a means to supply supplemental materials to reinforce lessons and skill development.

My lessons focus on making connections with my students, integrating their interests in the learning process. A typical lesson would include an introduction or review of previous lesson, followed by skill development and application to real life scenarios. This would be followed by reinforcement, clarification and summary.
My comfort with technology and multi-age experience allows me to gain perspective on where students face challenges and if gaps exist in their learning so that foundational lessons and scaffolds can be implemented to address these.
Lessons are tailored and student dependent based on age and need. They may be offered remotely through zoom, or in person based on geographical access and location.
