About Diya
I'm a fourth year Biochemistry student at the University of Warwick. I studied at an international school before that, and was very involved in peer mentor and leadership. I was a Counsellor, debate captain, and Deputy Head of School.
In my free time, I enjoy playing bass guitar and going to art galleries. I also love design, and have won multiple regional and national awards for magazine design!

Teaching GCSE and A Level Biology in a one-on-one, engaging way. I am a visual learner so work best with students who are the same.
Biology was my worst subject in exams but I worked my way up, and now I have finished my third year of an Integrated Masters in Biochemistry and have a first class! I understand the problems many students have with learning and understanding biology, since I went through a lot of it myself.
Typical lesson from me:
I usually work using the exam curriculum as a guide for subsections. Starting with gauging the students' confidence in the section, I typically go over key information in a mini-lesson tailored to the student's preferred style of learning.
After a mini-lesson, focusing on one core concept or idea, we'd go through some questions and exercises to ensure the student is able to understand fully. We can then move on to the next mini-lesson.
Each tutoring session would also include some review of a past topic covered, with the schedule tailored depending on the student (including upcoming tests or exams, areas the student struggles with, etc).
