About Jit Sheng

As a practicing architect, I bring real-world insight and studio experience into every lesson. My students don’t just learn how to design — they learn how to think like architects. I focus on guiding them to develop clarity in their design intent, confidence in their presentation, and rigor in their process. Having worked across Australia and Singapore with firms such as Woods Bagot and fjmt studio, I understand the expectations of both academia and professional practice. This allows me to bridge the gap between university projects and industry standards, helping students prepare for reviews, portfolio submissions, and interviews with confidence. Professionalism, patience, and mentorship are at the heart of my teaching. I believe that good architecture begins with curiosity and discipline — and my role is to nurture both. Whether you’re a student struggling with design articulation or a graduate refining your portfolio, I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel guided, challenged, and inspired to produce your best work.

About the lesson

I’m a registered architect (RAIA) and founder of an architectural practice, with experience at Woods Bagot and fjmt studio, working on projects across the region

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students think critically, design meaningfully, and communicate clearly. Each session balances conceptual development, technical precision, and presentation quality — simulating the feedback style of a real design studio.

Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes, structured around discussion, critique, and drawing/model refinement. I tailor each class to the student’s goals — whether it’s design studio projects, portfolio preparation, or developing software and visual communication skills.

I teach architecture students, graduates, and aspiring designers at all levels who want to refine their design thinking, strengthen their presentation, and gain professional insight into real-world practice.
