About Jago
This September I will begin studying the Philosophy and Psychology course at Warwick university. I intend to use my accumulated psychological knowledge to be a great teacher. Being dyslexic I used to hate school and exams and always felt that I could never achieve academically and that my potential had been neglected. I fell behind in maths but then got a maths tutor who helped show me that I could achieve in any subject with the right mentality and technique. I would now like to do the same for my pupils.

I have a passion for learning and sharing ideas, So I'd like to share my study techniques as well as psychological knowledge on motivation and stress in order to help my pupils to reach their full potential. Maths (and the maths heavy physics) are skill based and my lessons will work mainly on learning these skills which will lead to enhanced logical knowledge. My typical style in teaching year 7-11 pupils is relaxed, I'll ask them about what they are struggling with and let them determine the direction of their lesson and then I will show them how to figure out problems with flexible guidance and explanation. I can teach A level maths (I studied Edexcel so primarily that course but they are all quite similar) or any GCSE maths or physics course.
