About Elizabeth

Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a recent Cambridge graduate in Human, Social and Political Sciences, specialising in Politics and International Relations. I graduated in July, placing in the top 30% of my year.

With my experience and passion for teaching, together we'll conquer challenging subjects and navigate the university application journey. I’m here to empower you, build your confidence, and help you articulate your unique academic voice.

About the lesson

I have several years of experience tutoring and mentoring students in Politics, Russian, the Extended Project Qualification and university admissions (specifically personal statements and interviews). Having successfully received offers from my university choices, including Cambridge and LSE for highly competitive courses (HSPS and International Relations), I have first-hand experience of navigating the Oxbridge and competitive university application process. I now use that experience to help students approach their own applications with confidence and a clear strategy.

I have supported several students through the Cambridge application process, including helping students prepare for HSPS interviews and supporting them beyond the interview stage. My most recent student received offers from both Columbia University in the US and LSE. I also provide support with personal statements, admissions strategy, interview preparation and mock interviews with detailed feedback.

Alongside private tutoring, I have supported over 180 A-level students through the STEM SMART University of Cambridge mentoring programme, helping students from a range of educational backgrounds build confidence and progress towards higher education. I’m passionate about making challenging subjects accessible while encouraging students to develop their own independent thinking and academic voice.

Outside of tutoring, I’m particularly interested in politics, international affairs and geopolitics. I lead university discussion groups on contemporary geopolitical issues, and I’m also a keen chess player, having competed internationally in the past. I am currently working as a consultant in the financial industry.
